Supporting and enabling Deaf employees to access employment opportunities and providing them with equal opportunities at work is the responsibility of every organisation under the Equalities Act 2010. Organisations use a mixture of our video interpreting and in-person interpreters to ensure their Deaf employees can make phone calls when they need to, participate in meetings and training and can engage fully with their clients and colleagues.

Access to Work will usually fund any necessary ‘reasonable adjustments’, including the provision of in-person and video remote Interpreters and other types of communication support. We can also support organisations in making their employee helplines accessible to their Deaf employees by adding a video relay service link on their intranet pages.

Access to Work grants can cover the cost of Interpreters and other reasonable adjustments.
